Tai Chi · Movement & Mindfulness

Discover taijiquan through relaxed, flowing movements, steady breathing and mindful attention. A guided introduction in Xi’an offers a different way to connect with Chinese culture.

Taijiquan was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2020. Practised across China in several styles, it has deep historical connections with Wenxian and Chenjiagou in Henan. You do not need to travel to its historic heartland to experience the practice.

A closer encounter

  • Include an introductory Tai Chi session in your Xi’an journey, shaped around your experience and interests.
  • Explore balance, relaxed movement and the cultural ideas behind the practice.
  • For a deeper exploration of Tai Chi history, consider a dedicated extension to Wenxian and Chenjiagou.

Tai Chi can be experienced in different parts of China. Xi’an is one option for your journey; Wenxian and Chenjiagou offer a separate focus on its cultural roots.

Tell us what interests you. We’ll shape the experience around your journey and confirm the arrangements in your personal proposal.

A tradition in context.

Taiji has important roots in Chenjiagou, Wenxian, Henan, and is practised widely today. Our Xi’an introduction is a possible encounter location; it is not presented as the birthplace of the Wenxian tradition.

Make time to understand.

Choose a short, beginner-friendly practice introduction in Xi’an, or plan a separate journey towards the Henan heartland if training history is your main interest. The teacher, setting, pace and session format should suit your experience.
