Choose a manageable lake walk
Select one stretch of shore before the temple visit and agree how much walking feels comfortable. Paths, temple steps and transfers still need time even when the places look close on a map.
Spend two days with West Lake, Lingyin Temple and Longjing tea country, keeping the village tasting separate from the lake-and-temple day.
West Lake’s framed views, Lingyin’s wooded temple setting and the tea slopes around Longjing make a coherent western-Hangzhou journey. The first day connects the lake and temple; the second slows down in tea country. The aim is to understand how landscape and daily life meet, with time for conversation rather than a circuit of every lakeside landmark.

A tasting can explore flavour and preparation throughout the year, subject to the host’s arrangements. Picking and processing depend on the season and the farm; they are not automatic parts of every Longjing visit.
Explore each day and swipe through the places along the way.
Start with a selected stretch of West Lake’s shoreline, enjoying the views without attempting a full circuit. After lunch, continue west to Lingyin Temple for its courtyards and wooded setting.
